The Center on Aging and Health is looking for a dedicated individual to join our Environmental Services team as a Housekeeping/Laundry professional in Erwin. This full-time, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates who are eager to contribute to maintaining a clean and safe environment within our hospital and healthcare facility.
In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that our facility remains welcoming and hygienic for both patients and staff. You will be responsible for the cleanliness of various areas, including patient rooms, common areas, and laundry services. Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of assigned areas, including patient rooms, restrooms, and common spaces
- Handle and wash laundry items, ensuring proper sorting, washing, drying, and folding
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and supplies used in cleaning and laundry operations
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor
- Follow infection control policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment
- Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and laundry materials
- Adhere to all departmental policies and procedures
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high standards of cleanliness are met
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Entry-level experience in housekeeping or laundry services is a plus
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning and laundry tasks
