Job Summary

The Cath Lab Technician is responsible for assisting cardiologists during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures. The role includes preparing the Cath Lab, handling equipment, monitoring patients, and maintaining sterile conditions to ensure safe and effective procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the Cath Lab before procedures and ensure all required equipment and instruments are available.
• Assist cardiologists during procedures such as angiography, angioplasty, and other interventional cardiology procedures.
• Monitor patient vital signs during procedures and report any abnormalities to the doctor.
• Maintain sterile techniques and infection control standards inside the Cath Lab.
• Operate Cath Lab equipment such as imaging systems, monitors, and contrast injectors.
• Prepare and position patients for procedures.
• Maintain records of procedures and update patient documentation.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of biomedical waste as per hospital guidelines.
• Check and maintain Cath Lab equipment regularly and report any malfunction.
• Follow radiation safety guidelines and ensure patient and staff protection.
