Role: Sr Pediatric Nuclear Medicine Technologist

It has a Sr. Pediatrics Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Part-time position available. The position will work 3 days, 8 hour a day shifts. The work days can vary, will need the tech to be flexible to work M-F but for 3 days. There may be an opportunity to work increased hours but depends on volume. This is a fully benefited position with health benefits and vacation accrual at 60% appt. We are looking for someone with Pediatrics hospital experience. We offer moving reimbursement if applicable.
The technologist is licensed in all scopes of practice as defined by the State of California Radiologic Health branch, and performs routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals to assist in diagnosis and/or treatment in both the inpatient and outpatient environment.
The technologist must be able to work safely in an acute care setting and be able to interact accordingly with anesthesia and/or other patient care departments that visit the Nuclear Medicine environment.
Collects, prepares and analyzes biologic specimens and prepares data for interpretation. Responsible for performing radiation safety and quality control procedures on all Nuclear Medicine equipment as required by the department. Participates in orientation and training of assigned staff, students, residents, and faculty. Participates in performance improvement activities in the department.
The Technologist's advanced responsibilities can include, yet are not limited to the following: • Demonstrate competency and participate in the lead/coordinator role. • Demonstrate competency and the ability to instruct two or more of the specialty procedures. • Active participation in clinical protocol development, improvement and implementation.

Skills and Certifications:
Require CTNM: NMTCB or ARRT (N)
Require CA state license – CA Department of Public Health, Certified Technologist, Nuclear Medicine
Require post-primary certification in ARRT Computed Tomography (CT) or NMTCB (CT).
Graduated from JRCNMT accredited Nuclear Medicine training program.
Require BLS Certification
Minimum 3 or more years experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Minimum 0-3 years experience in CT.
For Prin level: Be able to perform all routine clinical PET/CT exams and at least 3 of the 5 special
Ideal Candidate:
Candidates who have worked in academic medical center setting, acute care hospital, inpatient and outpatient, adult and pediatrics exp. team setting, 3 or more years exp, must have all certifications plus CT certification.
Looking for PET/CT tech role. 8 hour shifts, must be open to working at all UCSF sites and shifts including weekends if needed for coverage. Communication interpersonal, adaptable, problem solving and teamwork are important attributes to position.
