Job Title: Automation Engineer (SCADA/PLC)

Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Automation Engineer with expertise in SCADA and PLC systems. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining industrial automation systems, along with supporting commissioning and troubleshooting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop functional design documents including control write-ups and control schematics
• Design and develop SCADA applications and interface programming
• Create process functional designs and system architecture
• Integrate SCADA systems with PLC/DDC controllers, routers, and gateways
• Prepare hardware & software design specifications and testing documentation
• Design control panels and instrumentation systems with detailed drawings and method statements
• Perform software modifications based on field requirements
• Troubleshoot system issues remotely and on-site
• Act as the single point of contact for SCADA installation design activities
• Ensure timely delivery of SCADA design and implementation projects
• Estimate project costs and support project planning
• Monitor system/device changes and document findings
• Conduct periodic vulnerability and system assessments
• Support full project lifecycle: requirement gathering, testing, validation, training, and post go-live support
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve process efficiency, reduce cost, and enhance quality
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders on project status and improvements

Functional Requirements:

• 3–4 years of experience in industrial automation/control systems
• Experience in the pharma industry is an added advantage
• Degree/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Computer Engineering
• Strong knowledge of control system architecture, HMI, PLC, and data acquisition systems
• Experience in PLCs: Siemens, Allen Bradley, Schneider, GE Fanuc, Omron, Mitsubishi
• Experience in SCADA systems such as:
  • Siemens SIMATIC WinCC V7
  • Wonderware InTouch
  • Mitsubishi MC Works 64
  • Citect, ClearSCADA, iFIX, CIMPLICITY
• Knowledge of communication protocols: Modbus, Profibus, DNP3, ASCII, etc.
• Hands-on experience in panel design and instrumentation design
• Programming knowledge in C, C++, C#, Oracle, PL/SQL
• Experience in site testing & commissioning
• Experience in system training and O&M documentation
• Ability to provide remote and on-call technical support
• Proficiency in MS Windows and MS Office
• Strong communication and ability to work independently and in teams

Desired Skills:

• SCADA communication and data flow expertise
• Knowledge of RTU/EFM devices and field instrumentation
• Understanding of SCADA system processes and industrial automation workflows

Preferred Certifications:

• SCADA Certification
• CCNA / CCNP
• CISSP (preferred for cybersecurity exposure in automation systems)
