Position Overview:

This is a 6-month contract operating on a Hybrid schedule (4 days onsite per week).

The Network Technologist will work with internal and external partners to deliver complex building, campus, and real estate network solutions aligned with business needs and overall network strategy. This includes end to end design, deployment, and validation across LAN, MAN, WAN, data center, wireless, branch, and extranet environments.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver network designs across LAN/MAN/WAN, data center, wireless (WiFi), and building/campus networking environments.

Secure funding for proposed designs through governance processes, including review of technical design documentation and Bills of Material.

Configure and deploy network hardware across building, core, and wireless network domains.

Conduct network equipment deployment and testing aligned with risk profile requirements including:

Network stability

Compliance with regulatory and mandatory policies

Closure of audit findings and assurance issues

Ensure strict adherence to change management processes.

Produce complete and accurate documentation for all deployments.

Provide knowledge transfer to operational support teams.

Prioritize and manage workstreams with business and IT partners.

Deliver committed workstreams within agreed timeframes.

Support Build Engineering efforts to ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and availability.

Perform incident management, troubleshooting, and proactive risk identification.

Implement automation to reduce manual work (Python, Ansible, GitLab).

Implement secure configurations, controls, and network protections.

Collaborate with architects, product managers, and technical teams to define infrastructure requirements.

Qualifications:

Candidates should possess knowledge or experience in a combination of the following technologies:

Cisco Routing & Switching (Cisco ACI, NX?OS, Arista, ASR, CSR, CSP, EVPN, NDFC, Cisco campus WiFi)

Routing protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP

F5 Load Balancers (LTM/GTM, iRules, TLS, API/HTTP troubleshooting)

Fortinet FortiGate, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer; Cisco Firepower/ASA

Experience designing and supporting complex data and building networks

Automation experience: Python, Ansible, GitLab

Highly Valued Skills & Certifications:

Juniper Routing & Switching

Bluecoat / Symantec Proxy / Zscaler / Infoblox / Forescout / NetScaler

Cisco Certified (minimum CCNP Enterprise)

FortiGate Associate or Professional

F5 LTM/GTM Certified Technical Specialist or equivalent

Tools and Technologies:

Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, F5, Python, Ansible, GitLab, WiFi, DAS, Core Networking, Data Center Networking, Routing, Switching.
