NextGen Hospitality Solutions is seeking a Kitchen Manager / Sous Chef to lead our Scratch Kitchen in Birmingham. This full-time, on-site position offers an exceptional opportunity to craft culinary experiences and drive the quality of our kitchen operations.

In this role, you will oversee kitchen staff, manage food preparation processes, and ensure the highest standards of food quality and safety. You will play a vital role in menu development and serve as a mentor to junior kitchen staff, defining and maintaining our culinary vision.

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 annually, along with a vibrant work environment and opportunities for growth within our team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations ensuring quality and consistency
  • Manage food preparation, cooking, and presentation standards
  • Collaborate with management on menu planning and specials
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a culture of collaboration
  • Maintain food safety standards and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Monitor inventory levels and manage ingredient ordering
  • Implement cost-control procedures without compromising quality
  • Participate in staff evaluations and provide constructive feedback

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in a kitchen management role
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards
  • Experience in menu development and seasonal offerings
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in kitchen management software and POS systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team management experience
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
