We partner with ambitious companies across sectors to place experienced professionals in roles where they can have a real impact. On behalf of a client in our partner network, we are currently looking for a Corporate Affairs Manager to join their team.

About the Company

Our client is a leading integrated UK energy company with operations across electricity generation, gas supply, and renewable infrastructure. With revenues of £4bn and an ambitious £2bn investment programme in offshore wind, grid battery storage, and green hydrogen, the business is operating at the centre of the UK's energy transition. As government policy, regulatory change, and public scrutiny intensify, the Corporate Affairs team plays an increasingly critical role in shaping the external environment in which the business operates.

The Role

As Corporate Affairs Manager, you will lead the company's engagement with government, regulators, and key external stakeholders on the issues that matter most to the business. You will manage relationships with Ministers, MPs, and civil servants, develop the company's positions on policy and regulatory developments, and ensure the business is a credible and proactive voice in the debates shaping the energy sector. This is a substantive policy and strategy role for someone with a genuine interest in energy, regulation, and political economy.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor and analyse UK and devolved government policy and regulatory developments relevant to the business, including DESNZ consultations, Ofgem reviews, and Parliamentary scrutiny of the energy sector.
  • Develop and articulate the company's position on key policy issues, working with subject matter experts across Regulatory, Legal, and Strategy.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Ministers' offices, Parliamentary committees, relevant civil servants, and industry bodies.
  • Coordinate the company's response to formal consultations, parliamentary inquiries, and select committee requests.
  • Produce briefing materials, policy submissions, and stakeholder communication content that reflect the company's strategic interests and commitments.

What We're Looking For

  • 5–8 years of experience in corporate affairs, government relations, public policy, or a strategy consulting role with significant policy exposure.
  • Strong understanding of the UK political and regulatory environment, particularly in energy, infrastructure, or utilities.
  • Exceptional written communication, able to draft policy submissions, ministerial briefs, and board communications with clarity and precision.
  • Skilled relationship manager, comfortable engaging at a senior level across government, regulatory bodies, and industry groups.
  • Background in management consulting, government, or an in-house corporate affairs function is strongly preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of £70,000 – £90,000, depending on experience.
  • Annual performance bonus.
  • Private health cover, enhanced pension, and 28 days holiday.
  • Hybrid working from London, with travel to Westminster and regional sites as required.
