**Core Responsibilities:**
- Execute comprehensive sterile techniques, including the preparation and setup of surgical trays, draping and prepping patients for surgical interventions, and assisting with post-operative dressing applications.
- Ensure meticulous cleaning and repacking of surgical packs for sterilization post-procedure, alongside the restocking of surgical supplies.
- Uphold a sanitary and secure environment for patients through active participation in the sanitation of clinical areas, operating rooms, and medical equipment, as well as by directing staff in maintaining environmental standards.
- Certified Surgical Technologists are tasked with inventory management for upcoming surgical cases, performing scrub roles during surgical procedures, preparing and upholding sterile fields, anticipating the needs of the surgeon, handling surgical instruments and supplies, and adhering to sterile processing protocols and infection control guidelines.
**Schedule:** - Monday to Friday, 0645-2300 hours.
- No on-call duties or weekend shifts are required.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
- **Degree:** Certificate.
- **Education:** Completion of a Surgical Technology program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), or a formal training program provided by any U.S. Armed Forces branch (Army, Navy, Air Force) for surgical technicians/technologists or operating room technicians.
- **Certification:** Possession of a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), or Tech-in-Surgery (TS-C) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) certification as a surgical technician and/or operating room technician. -
**Experience:** A minimum of one year in a surgical technician or operating room technician role within the last two years, with at least one year of recent OR scrub experience (within the past year).
- **Knowledge Base:** Proficiency in aseptic techniques and surgical instrumentation.
- **Life Support Certification:** Current AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification is mandatory.
