As a Locum MD in Anesthesiology, you will play a crucial role in the administration of anesthesia and the overall management of patients undergoing surgical procedures. Your expertise will ensure the highest standards of patient safety and comfort, while collaborating with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to deliver optimal care.

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia for various surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and consultations
• Monitor patients during procedures and adjust anesthesia as necessary
• Collaborate with surgical teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide post-anesthesia care and assessment
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Stay current with best practices and advancements in anesthesiology
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification in Anesthesiology
• 3-5 years of experience in anesthesiology practice
• Strong clinical skills and a comprehensive understanding of anesthesia techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Current and valid medical license to practice in the state of New Mexico
• Schedule: Monday-Thursday (6:30a-3p) and Friday (7:30a-4:30p)
• No call, weekends, or holidays

Daily Volume: 10-20 anesthetic cases

9 ORs, 5 NORAs

Support Staff: Additional Anesthesiologists, CRNAs

Modified anesthesia care model

EMR: PICIS

Any state license accepted

Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Paid travel & expenses
