Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia for various surgical procedures
- Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after anesthesia
- Collaborate with surgeons and other medical staff for optimal patient care
- Assess patient medical histories to determine appropriate anesthetic plans
- Manage postoperative pain through appropriate pain management techniques
- Educate patients about anesthesia procedures and address their concerns
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and procedures
- Stay updated with advancements in anesthesiology and surgical practices
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of residency in Anesthesiology
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of North Carolina
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in anesthesiology
- Strong clinical skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Commitment to providing patient-centered care
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10 to 12-hour shifts
Call required, weekends as needed
Average Daily Volume: 10-15 CV cases
Case Types: Cardiac, thoracic, vascular surgery, TAVR, CABG, MitraClip
Care team model
Support Staff: MDs and CRNAs
EMR: Cerner, AIMS
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
Must be TEE certified
