 This contract position is on-site and offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of young patients while working within a collaborative medical practice environment.

As a Locum MD in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for children and adolescents. Your expertise will be vital in delivering high-quality mental health care and working alongside a team of professionals committed to improving patient outcomes. 

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations for children and adolescents
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Provide therapy and medication management as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychologists, social workers, and educators
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records
• Participate in case conferences and treatment team meetings
• Educate patients and families about mental health issues and treatment options
• Stay updated on best practices and advancements in child psychiatry

Requirements

• MD or DO degree with a valid medical license
• Completion of residency in Psychiatry with a focus on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
• Experience in a clinical setting treating children and adolescents
• Strong understanding of mental health disorders and treatments
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical medical practice
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8a-5p

No call requirement

Setting: Onsite

Patient Population: 13-17 years old

Patient Volume: 15-20 per psychiatrist per day

ADC: 95-100 total patients

ALOS: 7.5-8 days

Bed Count: 130

Current Team: 5 full-time psychiatrists, 3 part-time psychiatrists, 5 family practice physicians (medical consultants), RN, BHS, NPs

Must be board-certified
