As a Locum Anesthesiologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality anesthesia care in various clinical settings. This position is ideal for professionals seeking flexibility while contributing to patient outcomes in a collaborative healthcare environment. 

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures
• Conduct pre-anesthetic assessments and consultations
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care
• Manage anesthesia-related complications and emergencies
• Document anesthesia care and maintain accurate medical records
• Educate patients and families about anesthesia procedures
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department
• Stay updated on advancements in anesthesiology practices and technologies

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with specialization in Anesthesiology
• Valid state medical license to practice in Harrisonburg
• Experience in administering anesthesia in diverse surgical settings
• Strong knowledge of anesthesia protocols and procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
• Commitment to continuous professional development and education

Schedule: 7a-5p or 7a-3p

14 ORs + OB

Caseload: General, orthopedic, OB, vascular, and pediatric

Must be willing to both supervise and do your own cases

Care Team Model: 12 Anesthesiologists, 3-6 CRNAs

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
