As a Cardiothoracic Surgeon , you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating heart and lung conditions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered care while contributing to our commitment to excellence in the medical field. This role is essential in ensuring patient safety and upholding the highest standards of surgical practice.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and expertise
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
• Collaborate with surgical teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary
• Participate in surgical rounds and provide mentorship to medical staff
• Ensure compliance with medical standards and regulations
• Maintain thorough documentation of patient records and surgical outcomes
• Engage in continuous education to keep abreast of advancements in cardiothoracic surgery

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery preferred
• Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery
• Demonstrated ability to perform complex surgical procedures
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and techniques
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make critical decisions
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and education

Schedule: 24-hour call coverage, 1-2 weekends per month

Daily Volumes: 5-10 patients, 0-3 admits, 2-7 ICU, 1-2 surgeries

Patient Population: Adults

Required Procedures: General cardiac surgery (open & endoscopic), coronary artery bypass surgery (on-pump), valvular repairs & replacement, IABP, PA catheter, and balloon pump

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
