As a Cardiothoracic Surgeon , you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating heart and lung conditions. Responsibilities
- Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and expertise
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
- Collaborate with surgical teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary
- Participate in surgical rounds and provide mentorship to medical staff
- Ensure compliance with medical standards and regulations
- Maintain thorough documentation of patient records and surgical outcomes
- Engage in continuous education to keep abreast of advancements in cardiothoracic surgery
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery preferred
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex surgical procedures
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and techniques
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make critical decisions
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and education
Schedule: 24-hour call coverage, 1-2 weekends per month
Daily Volumes: 5-10 patients, 0-3 admits, 2-7 ICU, 1-2 surgeries
Patient Population: Adults
Required Procedures: General cardiac surgery (open & endoscopic), coronary artery bypass surgery (on-pump), valvular repairs & replacement, IABP, PA catheter, and balloon pump
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
