As a Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon, you will play a critical role in our surgical team, providing expert care to patients requiring complex heart and chest procedures. You will have the chance to collaborate with top professionals in the field, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of surgical excellence and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and care
• Evaluate patients pre- and post-operatively
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other surgical staff
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records
• Participate in surgical rounds and case discussions
• Provide consultations and follow-up care for patients
• Stay updated on the latest techniques and advancements in cardiothoracic surgery
• Adhere to all safety and regulatory protocols

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery
• Valid state medical license to practice in Nebraska
• Experience in cardiothoracic surgery, preferably in a hospital setting
• Strong surgical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to patient-centered care and ethical practice
• Level I Trauma

Schedule: 24-hour call, 7a-7a

Duties: Hospital rounds on CTS patients, OP and IP consults, OR coverage for cardiac surgery, and some thoracic trauma

Support Staff: APPs

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified
