In this role, you will be instrumental in performing complex surgical procedures, providing pre-operative and post-operative care, and working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal outcomes for our patients. Responsibilities

  • Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures with precision and care
  • Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Provide post-operative care and monitor patient recovery
  • Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records
  • Stay updated on advancements in cardiothoracic surgery techniques
  • Participate in departmental meetings and case reviews
  • Provide mentorship to junior medical staff as needed

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of Athens
  • Experience in cardiothoracic surgery is preferred
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems

Schedule: 5 days per month

Patient Census: 5 hospital encounters per day, or 25 per month

Procedures: Emergent CABGs, aortic dissections, etc.

Support Staff: 2 surgeons, 5 surgical APPs

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
