As a Locum Cardiothoracic Surgeon, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality surgical care to patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions. You will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, contributing to a dynamic practice focused on patient-centered care and innovative treatment approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures
  • Assess patient conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers
  • Conduct pre-operative and post-operative evaluations
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records
  • Provide patient education and support to families
  • Participate in departmental meetings and case discussions
  • Stay current with advancements in cardiothoracic surgery techniques

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or eligibility in Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of Missouri
  • Strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient care
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in a similar surgical role preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Schedule: 24-hour beeper call shifts

Patient Volume: 5-10 per day

Responsibilities: Perform surgeries, rounding, and consults

Case Types: Thoracic

Support Staff: APPs and Critical Care team

Must be board-certified
