As a Locum Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapy to children and adolescents facing various mental health challenges. Your expertise will help shape treatment plans and foster positive mental health outcomes for our patients. This role is crucial in addressing the growing demand for mental health services in our community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations for children and adolescents
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide medication management and therapy sessions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Participate in case consultations and treatment planning meetings
- Educate patients and families about mental health and treatment options
- Stay informed about current best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Current board certification in Psychiatry
- Experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical setting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of North Carolina
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Schedule: 10-hour shifts, mostly 7 on/7 off
Call coverage required
Setting: Inpatient
Daily Volume: 24 patients split between 2 MDs and 1 APP
Duties: Consults and evaluations if on-call, otherwise follow-ups and unit coverage
EMR: Cerner Powerchart
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
