As a Locum Critical Care Physician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to critically ill patients, collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This role is essential in supporting our mission of delivering exceptional medical practice and enhancing patient experiences.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive critical care to patients in a high-acuity setting
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care
  • Perform diagnostic procedures and interpret laboratory results
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetings
  • Adhere to all hospital protocols and policies regarding patient care

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of Kentucky
  • Experience in critical care settings
  • Strong knowledge of ICU protocols and standards of care
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable utilizing electronic health record systems
  • Schedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7a

Setting: Closed ICU units, 50 beds total

Daily Admissions Volume: ~12-15 patients

Procedures Required: Intubation, chest tube, bronchoscopy, etc

Support Staff: RNs, Intensivists

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified 

DEA, ACLS, and BLS required

Paid travel & expenses
