As a Locum MD/DO in Pulmonology and Critical Care, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals. You will be involved in critical decision-making processes and contribute to enhancing patient outcomes in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for patients with pulmonary and critical care conditions
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient management
- Perform procedures related to critical care and pulmonary medicine
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families on health management and preventive care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Pulmonology or Critical Care Medicine
- Active medical license to practice in the state of North Carolina
- Experience in a clinical setting with a focus on critical care
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of pulmonary diseases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
Schedule: 12-hour day or night shifts
Setting: General floor, ICU, and Neuro ICU
Patient Census: 12-18 per day + new consults
Duties: ICU rounding, pulmonary consultations, and bedside critical care procedures
Required Procedures: Bronchoscopy, endotracheal intubation, central venous catheter placement, arterial line placement, and chest tube insertion
Support Staff: APP
EMR: Cerner Powerchart
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
