As a Locum Emergency Medicine Physician, you will play a vital role in assessing and treating patients in urgent need of medical attention. Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency medical care to patients of all ages
- Perform thorough assessments and prioritize patient treatment based on urgency
- Collaborate with nursing staff and specialists to design patient care plans
- Document patient interactions and treatment plans accurately
- Manage acute illnesses and injuries in a time-sensitive environment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the emergency department
- Educate patients and families about treatment options and follow-up care
- Comply with all medical protocols and hospital policies
Requirements
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Completion of accredited residency in Emergency Medicine
- Active medical license to practice in the state of Louisiana
- 1-3 years of experience in a clinical emergency medicine setting
- Strong clinical skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
Schedule: 24-hour shifts, 8a-8a
Average Daily Volume: 34-45 patients
Annual Volume: 12K patients
Support Staff: APPs
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
