Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of general surgical procedures
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and quality care
• Participate in surgical rounds and patient consultations
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Stay current with advancements in surgical techniques and practices
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with medical regulations and standards

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Active medical license to practice in the state
• Experience in general surgery preferred
• Strong surgical skills and clinical judgment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
• Strong commitment to patient care and safety
• Willingness to participate in continuous education and professional development

Schedule: 24-hour call

Duties: Weekend call coverage, rounding on inpatients with surgery consults

Required Procedures: General surgery and some GI

Support Staff: OR call team, Hospitalist, inpatient nursing

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified or board-eligible
