Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations and physical examinations
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging studies
- Engage in detailed discussions with patients regarding their treatment options
- Provide on-call support and crisis management for patients as needed
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions to enhance care delivery
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulations
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Board certification or eligibility in Hematology Oncology or Medical Oncology
- Strong clinical skills and a commitment to patient-centered care
- Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and families
- Prior experience in a clinical setting is preferred
- Valid medical license to practice in Massachusetts
- Capable of handling a diverse range of patient cases and medical scenarios
Flexible Schedule: 8a-5p, 3 to 5-day workweek
Call Requirement: Every Monday night and 1:4 weekend rotation
Will cover multiple facilities
Patient Census: 12-15 per day
Case Split: 60% hematology, 40% medical oncology
EMR: Epic
Board certification required
Paid travel & expenses
