As a Locum Psychiatry MD/DO, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders while working closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. This role is essential in ensuring that our patients receive high-quality care and support during their treatment journey
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide psychotherapy and medication management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for holistic patient care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary
- Document patient interactions and treatment plans accurately
- Stay informed on the latest developments in psychiatric medicine
- Participate in staff meetings and case discussions
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Active medical license to practice in the state of Arkansas
- Experience in psychiatric care, preferably in a clinical setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
- Flexibility to adapt to varying patient needs and schedules
Shifts: 24-hour call
Schedule: Clinic Monday-Friday (8a-5p) and beeper call on weeknights/weekends
Daily Volume: 8-16 patients, 4-7 admissions/consults
Patient Population: Ages 55+
Setting: Inpatient, 14-bed geriatric psychiatric floor
Duties: Evaluations and treatment, consults on the floor and in the ED, and admissions
Support Staff: APRN, nurses, case management, and Hospitalist
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
