As a Locum MD in Gastroenterology, you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating a variety of gastrointestinal disorders. Your expertise will help us provide high-quality healthcare services, ensuring the well-being of our patients. You'll work closely with a team of healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care and support to our community.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assessments
- Diagnose and treat gastrointestinal conditions
- Perform endoscopic procedures and other interventions as needed
- Collaborate with nursing and support staff for optimal patient care
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Educate patients about their conditions and treatment options
- Stay current with advancements in gastroenterology
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Valid medical license to practice in the state
- Completion of residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Gastroenterology
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of gastrointestinal disorders
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Experience with electronic medical records systems is a plus
Schedule: Monday 7a-Monday 7a, one week per month
Clinic Volume: 3 patients per hour
Endo Lab Volume: 8 cases per day
Duties: Hospital call, scheduled procedures, consults, and clinic coverage
Procedures Required: EGD, colonoscopy, flex sig
Clinic Support Staff: PA, LPN, MA
Endo Lab Support Staff: CRNA, RN, NP, tech
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
