This on-site, contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide exceptional patient care in a supportive and dynamic medical practice environment.
As a Locum MD, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating patients with blood disorders and cancers, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care. You will be involved in various patient management projects and initiatives that aim to improve treatment outcomes and enhance patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop treatment plans for hematologic conditions
- Administer chemotherapy and other treatment modalities
- Collaborate with oncologists and other healthcare professionals
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Participate in clinical research and contribute to improving practices
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Stay current with advancements in Hematology Oncology
Requirements
- MD degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification in Hematology Oncology
- 3+ years of clinical experience in Hematology Oncology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and environments
Schedule: 8a-4:30p, 4 and 5-day workweeks
Call shifts required
Patient Volume: 15 per day
Facility: 24-chair infusion room and onsite radiation oncology
Case Mix: 50% hematology, 50% oncology
Support Staff: Additional MDS, midlevels
EMR: Epic Beacon
Must be board-certified
