. This contract position offers an on-site working mode, allowing you to engage directly with patients and collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced medical practice environment.
As a Locum MD in Hematology Oncology, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and treating patients with blood disorders and cancers. You will have the opportunity to contribute to patient care and work on a variety of cases that enhance your clinical skills and knowledge in this specialized field.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients with hematological and oncological conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on the latest clinical guidelines
- Perform necessary procedures and treatments in accordance with best practices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding diagnoses and treatment options
- Stay current with advancements in hematology and oncology practices
- Participate in case reviews and contribute to clinical discussions
- Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board certification or eligibility in Hematology Oncology
- Experience in a clinical setting with a focus on hematology and oncology
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
Schedule: 8a-4:30p, 4 and 5-day workweeks
Call shifts required
Patient Volume: 15 per day
Facility: 24-chair infusion room and onsite radiation oncology
Case Mix: 50% hematology, 50% oncology
Support Staff: Additional MDS, midlevels
EMR: Epic Beacon
Must be board-certified
