As a Locum NP/PA in Cardiothoracic Surgery, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care while collaborating with a team of skilled surgeons and healthcare providers. Your expertise will contribute to patient assessments, treatment plans, and post-operative care, ensuring optimal outcomes for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and evaluations
- Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plans
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
- Monitor and document patient progress throughout treatment
- Educate patients and families on treatment options and care plans
- Participate in surgical procedures as directed by supervising physicians
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in cardiothoracic surgery
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Strong clinical skills in cardiothoracic surgery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience in patient assessment and care planning
- Knowledge of relevant medical software and electronic health records
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
Schedule: 24-hour call shifts
Duties: Hospital rounding, surgery (elective and emergent), and assistance in clinic
Cases: Cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and CABG surgery
Preferred Skills: Removal of chest tubes, pulmonary artery catheters, epicardial wires, and intra-aortic balloon pumps, and vein and artery harvesting
Support Staff: Office supervisor
EMR: Meditech and eCW
Must be board-certified
