The licensed Mammography Technologist is responsible for conducting both screening and diagnostic breast imaging procedures, ensuring the production of images that meet ACR quality standards.

 Proficiency in interacting with clinicians and coordinating patient care across departments is essential.

This technologist must adapt to evolving radiology information systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS). 

Active participation in departmental performance improvement initiatives is required, along with the maintenance of quality control records and engagement in routine equipment testing and maintenance. 

Additionally, this role includes the responsibility to mentor and train students and new employees as needed.

Qualifications include graduation from a formal radiology technology training program accredited by the AMA. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, including the ability to rotate shifts and cover multiple locations.

For a Senior level position, a minimum of three years of mammography experience is required, while a Principal level position necessitates over five years of experience.

 Candidates must hold the following certifications and licenses:

- ARRT Mammography Certification - CRT Radiology License

- CRT Mammography License

- BLS Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification

Furthermore, candidates who obtained certification after April 27, 1999, must provide proof of at least 40 hours of mammography-specific training.

 They are also required to demonstrate that they have performed at least 200 mammography exams within the past 24 months (rolling 24-month calendar) and possess certificates for a minimum of 15 CEUs in Mammography over the last 36-month period (rolling 36-month calendar). 

Additionally, proof of completion of MQSA-approved training of 8 hours each in Digital and 3D Tomosynthesis is mandatory.
