**Position Overview: Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C)**
We are actively seeking a full-time Orthopedic Physician Assistant (PA-C) to enhance our expanding Orthopedics team in Brattleboro, Vermont. This role involves delivering comprehensive musculoskeletal and orthopedic care in both clinical and surgical environments alongside seasoned orthopedic surgeons.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons to diagnose and manage a wide range of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions.
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations and assessments.
- Formulate and execute treatment plans under the supervision of a physician.
- Order, analyze, and interpret diagnostic imaging and laboratory studies.
- Assist orthopedic surgeons during surgical procedures, providing key intraoperative support.
- Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care, ensuring continuity and quality of care.
- Educate patients and their families on orthopedic conditions, treatment modalities, recovery trajectories, and rehabilitation processes.
- Perform a variety of orthopedic procedures, including joint injections and other office-based interventions.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Participate in rotational call coverage as required. - Uphold hospital protocols, universal precautions, OSHA requirements, and patient safety standards.
- Work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation teams, and ancillary departments to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives aligned with departmental objectives.
- Assume additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervising surgeons and hospital leadership.
**Qualifications:**
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
- If Board Eligible, please indicate the date of graduation.
- Active Vermont PA-C License or the willingness to obtain one if not currently held.
- Recent NPDB Self Query Report (active and within the last 30 days).
- Current CPR certification (to be obtained prior to commencement).
- DEA registration (required before starting). - CPR certification for Healthcare Providers.
- A minimum of 2 years of PA experience in primary care or a relevant specialty is preferred.
**Certification Requirements:**
- Board Certification.
- CPR certification. *
*State Licensing Requirements:**
- Valid Vermont state license.
**Additional Licensure:**
- Healthcare Provider CPR Certification.
- Nationally recognized certification as an Adult or Family Physician Assistant by the Vermont State Board of Medical Practice.
