### Job-Specific Responsibilities and Duties for HCW

**Core Responsibilities:**

- Facilitate and support the treatment and rehabilitation of patients, which includes executing foundational assessment procedures such as standardized psychological evaluations, clinical interviews, mental status assessments, substance abuse evaluations, and comprehensive psychological and nursing assessments.

- Establish mental health and nursing diagnoses and provide necessary patient education.

- Observe, document, monitor, and communicate patient progress effectively.

- Lead or assist in group and individual counseling sessions, therapeutic community activities, and related milieu interventions.

- Implement safety measures to mitigate risks of patient injury or self-harm.

- Aid patients with nutritional intake, hygiene maintenance, and comfort-related assistance.

- Collect and accurately record patients' vital signs.

- Collaborate with other agencies to facilitate comprehensive care, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation processes; communicate with military and community organizations to secure collateral information.

- Coordinate patient referrals to public, private, and military community services.

- Generate and maintain detailed records and reports related to specialty services.

- Provide assistance to individuals encountering acute and post-traumatic stress reactions.

- Maintain accurate and updated treatment documentation.

*Work Schedule:** - Commitment from Sunday to Saturday, typically consisting of six 12.5-hour shifts over a two-week cycle (including a 30-minute non-compensated meal break). Employees may be required to work on Federal Holidays on a rotating basis.

**Minimum Qualifications:** - 

**Degree:** Certificate. - 

**Education:** Completion of an accredited Psychiatric Technician Program or an equivalent program that aligns with the standards set by the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians, or a military education with proof of training as a psychiatric technician from the Armed Forces, or completion of a civilian program from an accredited institution focused on behavioral health patient care. -

 **Experience:** A minimum of one year of full-time experience as a Psychiatric Technician within the last two years in a mental health environment.

- **Certifications:**  - Current certification as a Psychiatric Technician by the American Association of Psychiatric Technicians, OR proof of completion of Military Psychiatric Technician Training or its equivalent, OR possession of an Associate of Arts degree in behavioral science, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.  - 

**Life Support Certification:** Current certifications from AHA or ARC in Basic Life Support (BLS).

  **Security Requirements:** - Must possess the capability to successfully pass a government background check and obtain the necessary security clearance.
