SFE is looking for an enthusiastic Energy Manager to join our dedicated team in Flushing. This full-time, on-site position offers a unique opportunity for individuals at the entry level to dive into the exciting field of energy management within the Architecture and Planning industry.

As an Energy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting our projects by helping to develop and implement energy-efficient strategies. You will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure that our designs align with sustainability goals and energy regulations. Responsibilities

  • Perform ASHRAE Level I, II, and III energy audits
  • Conduct on-site building inspections and energy assessments
  • Support NYC Local Law compliance projects, including:
    • LL87 Energy Audits & Retro-Commissioning
    • LL97 compliance and emissions reduction strategies
    • LL88 lighting compliance
    • Benchmarking and sustainability reporting
  • Coordinate with building owners, property managers, and contractors
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, and compliance documentation
  • Identify energy conservation measures (ECMs) and cost-saving opportunities
  • Support NYSERDA incentive and rebate programs
  • Assist with energy modeling and building performance analysis
  • Review utility data and building system operations
  • Monitor and improve on-site building energy performance
  • Support commissioning, retro-commissioning, and operational optimization efforts

Requirements

  • Experience with ASHRAE energy audits and building systems
  • Familiarity with NYC energy-related Local Laws and compliance processes
  • Knowledge of NYSERDA programs and incentives
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, lighting, controls, and building operations
  • Experience performing on-site energy assessments
  • Ability to manage projects independently and communicate professionally with clients
  • Strong report writing and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and spreadsheet analysis
  • Engineering background preferre
