Local Marketing & Community Coordinator (Bilingual) – Dalton, GA

Role Summary

Supermercados Talpa is seeking a bilingual Local Marketing & Community Coordinator to support and strengthen our presence in Dalton, Georgia. This individual will serve as a local representative of the company by building strong community relationships, supporting grassroots marketing initiatives, coordinating local events, and helping drive customer engagement and hiring efforts.

This is a highly hands-on, community-focused role designed for someone who enjoys being active in the community, building relationships, and executing local initiatives that support store growth and brand awareness.

This position is built around grassroots outreach and community presence. Weekend availability is not optional, as many community events, festivals, activations, and customer engagement opportunities occur during weekends.

The regular work schedule for this position is Wednesday through Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday scheduled as regular days off. Flexibility to work evenings and extended hours during events and peak business needs is required.

Key Responsibilities

1. Community Outreach & Grassroots Engagement

• Build and maintain relationships with local churches, schools, soccer leagues, community organizations, and local leaders
• Support outreach efforts within the Hispanic/Latino community
• Represent Supermercados Talpa at community meetings, events, festivals, and local gatherings
• Help establish Talpa as a trusted and active community partner in Dalton

2. Events & Local Activations

• Coordinate and support:
  • Community events
  • Cultural celebrations
  • Customer appreciation activities
  • Store promotions and activations
  • Grand opening support activities
• Assist with event setup, logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site execution
• Maintain a strong community presence during weekends and local events

3. Local Hiring & Recruiting Support

• Support local recruiting efforts through community networking and outreach
• Attend hiring events and job fairs
• Promote employment opportunities within the local community
• Assist in building a local hiring pipeline through grassroots connections

4. Community Feedback & Market Awareness

• Share feedback regarding customer preferences and community trends
• Help identify opportunities for increased community engagement
• Support local initiatives that strengthen customer relationships and brand loyalty

5. Brand Representation

• Serve as a positive ambassador for Supermercados Talpa
• Ensure all interactions remain professional, culturally relevant, and community-focused
• Maintain a strong, visible presence within the Dalton market

Qualifications

Required

• Bilingual (Spanish and English)
• Strong ties to the Dalton, GA community preferred
• 1–3+ years of experience in:
  • Community outreach
  • Grassroots marketing
  • Event coordination
  • Retail support
  • Recruiting or customer engagement
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work a Wednesday–Sunday schedule
• Weekend availability is required and considered an essential function of the role

Preferred

• Experience in grocery, retail, hospitality, or customer-facing environments
• Experience coordinating community events or local activations
• Existing relationships within the local Hispanic community
